Our Journey

At Pure Solutions, our journey to provide customers with high-quality water testers has not been without its struggles. From malfunctioning prototypes to changing corporate structures, we have faced obstacles at every turn. But we didn't let those challenges stop us. Instead, we continue to take action to overcome them and bring our customers the best products possible.

Vivek's Journey

Hurdles/Problems:Over the years, we've encountered numerous hurdles impacting our growth and operations. A significant challenge was the departure of our third co-founder, who played a vital role in our project's business and marketing aspects during high school. His departure created a leadership vacuum, which I had to fill, even though I lacked social skills and business knowledge. Despite these shortcomings, I embraced the role and gradually improved. Taking over his responsibilities proved to be a turning point in my personal and professional growth, opening up new opportunities in club administration and campus connections.

Actions Taken:

My responsibilities in the project included developing the initial Bluetooth app and filing our business registration. I created the app using Processing software, making it compatible with laptops and mobile devices. As soon as Adrian completes prototype revisions, I will adapt the app for iOS and publish it on the App Store. Simultaneously, I'm working with a lawyer to file all the required legal documents and licenses, ensuring a smooth registration process. Moreover, I'm researching grants to secure funding for further project development, a crucial step in our journey.

Adrian's Journey

Hurdles/Problems:

My personal struggles have mostly come from prototyping. Hours of designing complex systems can really take a toll on a solo developer and mistakes are bound to happen. This can be especially true if deadlines are approaching, for example during the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge. Growing from this I’ve begun to realize that certain elements of my design process need to be shifted, and since UEC, I’ve taken a step back from developing near production stage prototypes to those where I can more thoroughly evaluate and analyze different design elements.

Actions Taken:

Personally, I have designed several prototypes for the solution that we aim to implement. Each iteration has gotten closer to a product that I would be comfortable putting into mass production. Prototypes for me have been the biggest part of my entrepreneurial journey. As a team, I have worked with Vivek and competed in several business competitions in order to secure some preliminary funding to help build our prototypes and cover baseline costs of getting started.
